Richard's earliest memories are of running around his grandparent's Oklahoma farm, feeding their horses, and helping string barbed wire fences. While Richard always enjoyed the outdoors, he fell in love with it when he was eight years old hunting whitetail deer for the first time. I was hooked from the first morning my dad and I snuck into the woods before sunrise. We watched the world and the wildlife come to life, says Richard. When he wasn't playing youth baseball or playing quarterback on his small-town football team, Richard was thinking about hunting, fishing, and camping. Richard attributes his down-to-earth personality to his Oklahoma upbringing. It's a trait that clients are drawn to and appreciate when seeking property for a home or investment, whether they're native Oklahomans or new to the state. Richard is as comfortable working with corporate clients as he is with fellow Oklahomans. He spent many 13+ years in the oil and gas industry working for a top service company, traveling North America working with executives and decision-makers. I had opportunities to move to Cody, Wyoming; Huntington Beach, California; Houston, Texas; Denver, Colorado and almost any major oilfield destination. My heart and family are in Oklahoma. There is something special about Oklahoma. Its people, who are always willing to lend a helping hand, make me proud of my decision to stay, explains Richard. And there is something about his corporate background and also his competitiveness and perseverance that serves Richards's clients well when it comes to pricing and negotiations. He started shooting archery competitively across Oklahoma and went on to compete nationally winning an Oklahoma state championship, Shooter of the Year, two national archery tournaments in Missouri and Illinois, and 10 national Top 10 finishes. Like him combining his love for sports, the outdoors, and hunting in one with archery and bow hunting, Richard finds the perfect property that combines all his client's wants in one place. With this knowledge of business and Oklahoma, plus his family values, honesty, and integrity, Richard lends a helping hand to clients to make their dreams of Oklahoma land ownership a reality. After graduating from Oklahoma State University, Richard married his grade school classmate and high school sweetheart, Rebecca. The couple has two daughters who are inheriting Richards's love of the outdoors, nature, and land as they hunt and camp across Oklahoma together. My passion for hunting, wildlife, and all things outdoors led me to start 1776 Land Company, powered by Fathom Realty, where I would have the opportunity to trade corporate travel and business suits for my true passion of the outdoors and helping people achieve their dreams of land ownership or land investment, says Richard.
