Growing up in Shawnee, OK my family lived on 15 acres with a pond.  I can remember going outside and walking through the property with what seemed like a new adventure in the woods.  We always enjoyed all the outside activities you can have within your own property.  Growing up I became more aware of how important owning your own land really is.  When I was in the United States Marine Corps I was stationed in 29 Palms, CA, and deployed twice to Afghanistan.  If you know anything about these locations then you will understand how the desert is far from grass and trees.  I missed Oklahoma and couldn't wait to get back to my roots and the greener side of the country.
